About Us
About Us
We began as a grassroots effort, driven by neighbors helping neighbors in the face of adversity. When over 300 homes and 1,000 people were impacted by the glacial outburst in the Mendenhall Valley, our community came together to offer support and assistance. Our organization Juneau Flood Solution Advocates (JFSA) is focused on real-time communication and collaboration with local organizations to ensure we meet the urgent needs of our community.
As a newly formed volunteer organization JFSA is evolving and is actively identifying specific goals, implementing strategies aimed at finding viable long-term solutions to mitigate the risks of future glacial outbursts. We work closely with the City and Borough of Juneau, FEMA representatives and other governmental agencies, and local businesses to enhance our efforts. Our commitment extends to engaging with legislators and collaborating with State and Federal Agencies to drive meaningful action and support for our community.
Join us as we unite to protect our home and support our neighbors during this critical time. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient Mendenhall Valley.
